Vehicle Fitments

This JDM J35A long block is designed for the following North American (USDM) models:

  • 2006-2008 Honda Ridgeline (RT, RTS, RTL, RTX)

Installation & Technical Notes

The Ridgeline’s J35A is a "workhorse" engine, but a successful JDM swap requires transferring specific USDM components to satisfy the North American ECU and emissions systems:

  • Long Block Conversion: This sale includes the engine block, cylinder heads, and internal rotating assembly. You must transfer your original USDM intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, wiring harness, and all sensors (Crank, Cam, and Knock) to ensure 100% plug-and-play compatibility.

  • Oil Pan & Pickup: Inspect your original USDM oil pan. Some Ridgeline models utilize a specific pan for 4WD clearance; if the JDM unit differs, simply swap your original pan and pickup tube.

  • Power Steering & Accessories: Retain your original Ridgeline accessory brackets and power steering pump to ensure proper belt alignment and hose clearance in the engine bay.

  • Essential Maintenance: We strongly recommend replacing the following parts during the swap:

    • Timing Belt Kit: Replace the belt, water pump, and hydraulic tensioner (Interference Engine).

    • Spark Plugs: NGK Laser Iridium (IZFR5K11).

    • Rear Main Seal: Significantly easier to replace while the engine is out.

    • Thermostat: Install a new OEM-spec thermostat to prevent cooling issues.

  • Valve Adjustment: While the engine is on the stand, we recommend checking and adjusting the valve lash to factory specs for optimal idle quality and performance.
