  To ensure a "Plug-and-Play" installation and keep your vehicle emissions-compliant, please follow these expert notes:

  • Long Block Swap: This engine is sold as a JDM Long Block (Head and Block). You must transfer your original USDM intake manifold, exhaust manifold, sensors, and wiring harness from your old engine.

  • VVT-i Solenoid: While the JDM engine includes a VVT-i solenoid, we recommend inspecting yours and using the one that matches your original wiring plug.

  • Maintenance Items: For the best results and to maintain your warranty, replace the following prior to installation:

    • Water Pump: A fresh OEM-spec pump ensures cooling reliability.

    • Spark Plugs: Use NGK Iridium or Denso K16R-U11.

    • Front & Rear Main Seals: It is significantly easier to replace these while the engine is out.

  • Oil Recommendation: Use high-quality 5W-30 synthetic oil and a genuine Toyota (90915-YZZF2) oil filter.

  • Non-EGR Units: Note that JDM engines often do not have EGR ports. By using your USDM intake and exhaust components, you will maintain factory emissions standards.
